A while back I saw an astrologer who was genuinely good. She charged $250 an hour, and the session itself was valuable. She read my birth chart, my solar return, even did some tarot. But when I left, I realized I didn’t really understand my houses, or most of what she was telling me. I didn’t know what my houses meant. I didn’t understand my moon sign or my Chiron placement going in, so I couldn’t fully follow what was coming out.

I kept thinking how much more I would have gotten from that session if I’d understood the basics beforehand. Not to skip working with someone skilled like her, but to actually be able to meet her halfway instead of nodding along.
